What if there was a way to make what you do more tangible and easier to explain to your prospective clients? And what if you could package what you do in different ways, so you can earn more leveraged income and move beyond one-to-one services?
There is a way to accomplish both those things, and it’s going to revolutionize your business!
The key lies in creating your Client Journey.
Your Client Journey is the journey you take your clients through and the results they achieve at each step. Think of it as your unique blueprint or recipe.
Having a Client Journey in place for your business brings many valuable benefits.
Right off the bat, it gives you added credibility and helps differentiate you, because it’s your unique blueprint.
It makes it much easier to talk about what you do so that clients easily understand. If you sell a service that is somewhat intangible, like coaching, it makes it so much easier to explain what you do and the results your clients will achieve.
Imagine doing a strategy session or consultation, and rather than selling your time, you’re selling a system with clear steps and outcomes? Wouldn’t that make it so much easier for your clients to understand and invest in?
And when your clients buy a package (with clear steps and outcomes at each step), you’ve shifted from selling your time to selling results! That earns you more income and helps your clients commit to the process, which means they get better results.
Your clients benefit in other ways as well. It makes things simple and straightforward for them when they can clearly see the steps they need to take. It also gives them peace of mind and confidence that they can get results by following a clear path.
Once you’ve created your Client Journey, you hold the key to earning multiple streams of income. Because you can now take what you do and package it in different ways, with different levels of access to you and at different price points.
If you think you can’t create your own Client Journey because every client is different and what you do is too “in the moment”, you need to release that thought. Yes, every client will go through it in their own unique way but there is a clear path, a simple series of steps that you follow with each client.
You may think you’re not ready to package what you do, or you might be afraid that your clients will only buy one session at a time vs. a package. You need to take that leap of faith. You’ll surprise yourself with the outcome.
One of my clients recently struggled with this very fear. After we created her Client Journey, she went from selling one session at a time to selling a comprehensive package that brought her more income, and her clients better results.
Want to make your Client Journey even more tangible so your ideal clients instantly understand your unique value?

I love your explanation that each client will take from it what they will. That is so true, but fear usually holds us back.
Thanks.
Cindy says
You’re so right Joan. Fear and mindset are probably the biggest factors that hold us back from reaching our goals. When you realize that it doesn’t have to be perfect and you will improve things as you move forward, it really frees you from that fear.

Definitely can se the value of what you are sharing. It does get challening at times trying to simply what we do.
Cindy says
You nailed it Mark. It’s all about simplifying things for ourselves and for our clients.

I am currently creating my signature system. It s called Phonics the Easy Way. So far everything has been easy with its creation because it is my passion. I am planning on having Vervante do the packaging for me. Do you have any suggestions of other companies that help to create products on demand?
Cindy says
Congratulations Joanne! I haven’t used that service but have heard good things about Vervante. You can also check out Kunaki and Lulu.

I love your concept of the Signature System! None of our businesses serve everyone, and we need to identify who we do best serve. You are so right that we need to narrow our aim. Thanks for good advice!
Cindy says
Thank you Kebba! So true. Narrowing your focus to your favorite clients is so critical. I come at it from a different starting point than many others. In finding your niche, I believe in starting within. It’s only by leveraging your strengths and passions and experiences that you can really build a profitable business you love. thanks!

Cindy,
Your post is spot on, my business has completely changed as a result of having a system.
I work with career women transitioning them from their day job to entrepreneurship and when I first started I offered coaching by sessions but I didn’t have a process that I was following to help them get the results they wanted which I soon discovered was that they wanted to know how to make the money, achieve balance while building and not jeopardize their job in the process of creating their freedom based business.
Once I started doing VIP Days I realized I was walking clients through the same steps over and over again. I had a process.
Now I teach courses and am just beginning to write my home study version, it’s my goal to complete it by March 1st.
So I can absolutely attest that having a signature system is a business game changer.
Thanks,
Jeannie
Cindy says
Thank you for sharing that Jeannie! Yes, having a signature system completed transformed my business. Not only was I able to sell a package of my services much more easily, I was able to package what I do in various ways beyond 1-1 coaching. I love that I can help people in different ways and have options to offer.
Joy says
You need to be alert on what information you provide clients, so you can prepare a signature system. That means, stop and listen.
Cindy says
So true Joy. Often our signature system is right in front of us but we don’t recognize it as such because we’re so “in the moment”. It’s about taking a step back and really thinking things through so we can find the patterns in what we do. And it’s about ensuring that what we do delivers the results we promise and aligns with our brand promise. Thanks!

I’m about to create my signature system right now. I’ve been holding off because I didn’t know how to do it. After some research, I know have an idea at least of how to create one. And my interview for the Socially Holistic Podcast today, gave me some good ideas for steps.
