With the new year upon us, it’s natural to think about your plans for the coming year.
It’s funny because back in 2013 I wrote a business planning post that I enjoyed rereading and found helpful. You can check it out here.
I don’t know if I’m getting older and wiser or just slowing down to breathe more, but this year I’m in a state of greater reflection. There’s a lot to be said for stepping back and really thinking/feeling things through before jumping into action mode.
As I reflect, I’m revisiting where I’ve come from and where I’m headed…big picture stuff. Think of it as a theme for the year.
In 2015, I underwent a total rebrand. I created a new website and redid all of my programs. My theme for that year was “Inspired Action”.
In 2016, we did a major home renovation so I decided to give myself the grace of not creating anything new, but rather refining what I’ve created and serving my clients at the highest level. My theme for that year was “Simplicity”.
As I look to 2017, the creative juices are back in full force…
I’ll be creating new ways to serve my clients even better. That’s priority #1. I’ll also be sharing a new program that I’m excited about and know will add massive value for those called to work with me.
My theme this year is “Creative Alignment”.
The creative part is clear, but what do I mean by alignment? I’ve realized that for my creativity to really flow and for me to best serve those in my community, I need to feel aligned in my business.
When even one element is out of alignment, it causes me to question myself and struggle with my decisions.
So I thought I would share a few key areas in which I believe alignment is essential to your success.
1. Niche. Is your “dream client focus” aligned with who you really want to work with and who can most benefit from your gifts? Does the solution you offer align with your greatest gifts, experiences and passions?
2. Message. Does your message align with not just what you do but who you are and what you stand for?
3. Visual Brand. Does your visual brand align with the energy you want to project?
4. Programs. Do your programs align with how you want to serve your clients and what they most need?
5. Compensation. Does the investment in your programs and services align with the true value they offer (tendency is to undervalue)?
6. Business model. Does your business model align with how you want to spend your time in your business? Is there an easy flow to how clients move through their journey of working with you?
When all of those areas are in alignment, your creativity will flow, your clients will flourish and your profits will grow!
What is your theme for 2017? Please do share below. I love hearing from you!
