Many of us are dealing with the summer time lazies. As a parent whose elementary school kids are in the full-time fun zone, it can be challenging to be disciplined about business. Luckily, I absolutely love what I do so when I do have the opportunity to work, it’s a good thing!
Still, it’s not really work as usual. Instead, I’m taking some time this summer to renew and revitalize my business. Here are some of the actions I’m taking that will make a big difference in my business in the months (and years) to come.
1. Working with a Mentor – I’ve just hired a new mentor who is guiding me in my business. It’s so important to have someone who has experienced what you’re now going through and can provide support, feedback and ideas to help you move forward much faster than if you were to go it alone.
2. Writing a Book – I’ve been wanting to write a book for so long, and I’ve finally found the support I need to help me make that dream a reality much faster than I could ever have imagined. Keep your eyes open for some more information about how I’m doing that in the weeks to come.
3. Rebranding – I’ve hired a graphic artist (actually two) and a web guy to help me revamp my brand and website. Stay tuned for an exciting new look!
4. Networking – It’s so important to expand your circle of influence and connect with joint venture partners who can help you spread your message, and who you can support in return. And meeting driven, smart entrepreneurs is fun and exciting. It definitely can revitalize not only your list, but your business.
5. Last but certainly not least I’m taking the time to enjoy my family in a more relaxed way than I can during the hectic days of homework, baseball practice and soccer games. I love going off on adventures with my friends and family, and it’s wonderful that my life as an entrepreneur allows me to do that.
What about you? What are you doing to revitalize your business this summer? Please leave your comments below. Thanks!

Hi Cindy,
I am so excited for you as I read your summer plans. Getting a mentor, writing a book, rebranding and networking are all bringing you closer to your goals that you set out to accomplish. I wish you much success.
Most of all, have a wonderful vacation and when you get back, your puppy will be so happy to see you with lots of smooches and hugs.
As for me, well you know. We have chatted about it recently. I have been working very hard this week to rebrand myself, write autoresponders and network with my business associates.
Will be in touch when you get back,
Cindy

Hi Cindy,
This all sounds very exciting! I find that the success stories in the world are the ones who continue to move forward while everyone else is “on a break”. That doesn’t mean that you can’t take time to enjoy the family, as you are doing… but it means always keeping your eye on the prize and taking steps towards that goal.
Looking forward to the book and the new look!
Enjoy the time with your family!
Bob

Thanks Bob. I’m excited about the Book. Check out my blog post “11 tips to better writing” for a sneak peek of how I’m going to get this book done fast!

First, I have to say, in my mind you have one of the coolest branding in terms of design already, in my opinion. So I will be curious to see what comes next! Second, I love your list of “summer things.” Could be a good list anytime! I’m heading for some real-time networking next week at a marketing conference in Atlanta, so I’m pretty excited for that!
Cindy says
You’re very sweet Richard and I hope you’ll love the new look. Congrats on your conference and above all on your upcoming live event about effective and profitable collaboration. Talk soon!

Cindy..you are up to great things, while also enjoying your family and your summer…that’s true prosperity in my mind!
What I am doing: creating a new website to replace my old one, which will feature some new membership programs, and setting up a marketing plan and schedule to provide value and content on a more regular basis through a newsletter and blogging.
I am taking a break from ingesting other’s teachings, so I can focus on what I already know and am ready to offer, and receiving coaching that is about keeping me unstuck and taking action.
And making a getaway to So. California for a week!

I love that Ellen. As you know, I’m a big believer in combining training with action. If we don’t implement what we already know, then we need to take a break and implement before moving on to the next training. Let me know when you’re in S. California. I’m in San Diego. warm wishes, Cindy
