As an entrepreneur, you have lots of great ideas spinning through your mind. And you know the power of having a program in place to earn leveraged income – especially an online program.
Before you start creating your program, here are 10 steps to get your idea from spinning through your head to launched.
1. Dream – Brainstorm different ideas and tap into what you feel called to create.
2. Reflect – You need to ensure your idea is something your ideal clients want. So reflect on the biggest questions you get from your clients, and that have come up in consultations. How does your vision connect with what people are telling you they want and need?
3. Research – Before you run with your idea you want to validate it. You can interview some clients and/or potential clients to see what they want to learn, format, pricing, etc. Do a survey of people in your target market. Look at competitors and/or course sites like Udemy to see if your idea is already selling well. Bonus tip – informational interviews are a great way to start creating interest in your idea.
4. Organize – Decide what you want to teach and organize your thoughts. Create an outline of the modules and what they’ll learn from each module.
5. Messaging. Know the big idea behind your program that makes your positioning unique. Craft that idea into messaging that you’ll use throughout the entire launch.
6. Strategize – Choose one or 2 marketing strategies to get your work out into the world. Don’t get overwhelmed. Just focus on your greatest assets and strengths, and you can add other marketing strategies the next time you launch.
7. Plan – Plan the launch, with specific activities, responsibilities (who is doing what) and the timeline.
8. Support – Line up the help you need, including a VA, graphics, and a marketing coach. If you’re going to work with a coach, it’s best to do it at the beginning stage or at the very latest by stage 5 – messaging.
9. Create – Start creating the beginning content of the program. All that you really need to get started is the Orientation module and module 1. You’ll create the rest as you run the program. Also start creating the marketing material. Depending on the marketing strategies you choose, this material will vary. It could include a webinar/presentation, landing page, sales page, emails, etc.
10. Launch – Get your marketing into action and start filling your program. Set a goal for how many people you want in your program. You’ll be surprised how setting that intention helps you reach your goals.
What do you think? Have you skipped any of these steps? Are you stuck on any of these steps?
